Here's the deal.
Other than Friday's Fancies, I clearly don't do fashion focused posts. I leave that to the pros. I love clothes, don't get me, but I am pretty sure I would be the most awkward person alive posing for outfit posts. Who knows, maybe we'll get there someday. One thing I am good at is finding a good deal, which is clearly equally as glamorous. Here's some copycat great deal steals I've found lately:
----------------------------
I'm sure you've seen the cashmere collection dot sweater from J.Crew. It's been on everyone's dang blog lately. They're all gorgeous, and also $268. Ouch. If you're looking for a [much] more affordable version, stick with these Old Navy dotted pretties. $25! No, they aren't cashmere, but if you're just feelin' like jumping on the polka dot trend for a short time, this is an affordable way to do it.
find them here: J.Crew Collection Cashmere Polka-Dot Sweater /// Old Navy Boat Neck Sweater (Dots)
In case you don't sense a theme here, I love just about everything J.Crew creates. Just ask Michael- I go in the store and grab just about everything squealing like a child about how pretty everything is. J.Crew nails their dresses, unfortunately most are $100+, so not all are within my budget. Dorothy Perkins is a great place to find dresses with a J.Crew vibe for a fraction of the price! Steal of the year? By far the Dororthy Perkins wide stripe dress for $12. $12!!!!!!!

I saw that polka dot sweater this weekend and almost bought it. I think I need to go back and get it! Such a good deal.
ReplyDeleteXo,
Angela
PS: you should do outfit pics!!
I might have to go to Old Navy and get a polka dot sweater! I've been seeing a lot of people put a chambray shirt underneath. I think I need to jump on this trend ASAP!
ReplyDeleteI love Dorothy Perkins! However... I've had the WORST time trying to figure out my size with them! I've had to return the same dress twice. I'm usually a 2 but I couldn't even zip it up... So I tried a 4... I could zip it up, but I had a hard time breathing, so I ended up with a 6. Other than the sizing issues, their dresses are AMAZING and so affordable!
ReplyDeletePS. I was in JCrew over the weekend and literally wanted everything.
I never find deals! However, I might spring for ONE cashmere sweater because well, its heaven on earth.
ReplyDeleteI saw that sweater this weekend!! It is definitely on my radar...I was hoping they would have it on sale soon! I have a hard time buying sweaters when it's still 90 degrees outside, ha!
ReplyDeleteUghhh the cream and black stripped one is sold out.. but you def just made me spend $$ I shouldn't have! lolll. (:
ReplyDeleteI have a very similar black and white polka dot dress from h&m. But I'm obsessing over those old navy sweaters. Can't beat that price.
ReplyDeleteDear Laura,
ReplyDeleteThank you for simultaneously ruining my paycheck and making my day! Looks like I'll be stopping at Old Navy on the way home. :D
What a great post! And I'm sure you'd make darling outfit posts ;)
ReplyDeleteA blogger after my own blogger heart! Hahah I love affordable fashion posts! I do a Thrifty Tuesday post every week and this post is perfect! I love finding good deals...and I love those Old Navy sweaters!
ReplyDeleteHow did I now know about this fabulous Dorothy Perkins!? I will definitely have to do some DP shopping to satisfy my J. Crew craving the fiscally friendly way...
ReplyDeleteGirl, we are def friends for a reason...polka dot posts and Old Navy today on both of our blogs??? Love it! I grabbed the tan and black polka dot sweater this weekend! I am in LOVE! It's so soft! And DP...I LOVE! Have you ever actually gotten anything from the site? I want so much, but nervous about buying from another country.
ReplyDeleteyou're the best! i'm the same. love everything j. crew makes & how they style it. but def. a bit out of my budget! love your picks!!
ReplyDeleteloooved this, thank you so much! I need that Dorthy Perkins dress. $12 Bucks!?!
ReplyDeletelove this! those polka dot sweaters are absolutely adorable - need to pick them up soon!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of J Crew copycats, I got a bubble necklace on eBay! They claim to be actually J. Crew, but I don't know if that's actually true. They shipped from like Hong Kong or something so I kind of doubt it. The point is, they come in all kinds of colors and are $15 instead of $150. Just search "J crew bubble necklace" on eBay and you'll find it!
ReplyDeleteAnd for a little shameless self-promotion: I've worn it a few times on my blog :) Sarah's Real Life
I bought 2 of the Old Navy sweaters and got 30% off with free shipping! SCORE!! And polka dots must be in the air this week since I'm posting about it also!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Laura! I especially like the third DP dress...I just found that site a couple of months ago and it's been a go-to!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Please, please keep sharing your copycat finds! I, too, LOVE J.Crew but it is NOT in the budget right now :) Seriously, keep sharing your finds!
ReplyDeleteI love the DP dresses - all three of them! But I have to agree with you - J. Crew is perfection. Love/hate that store! :)
ReplyDeleteI do this too! The sweaters are a total match, too! No one would know that you spent a fraction of the price on the same style.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE JCrew!! I have a serious addiction to their online sales and buy something at least once a month. My closet is 1/3 full with JCrew....it's bad....Thanks so much for this post...i need to get over to Old Navy ASAP!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, amazing finds! You rock my world.
ReplyDeleteHope this isn't awkward, but I could give you a BIG ol' kiss for sharing these steals!!! So...**MWAAAAH*!! Now I just need to go buy some things. ;)
