Today is a great day. Why, you ask?

Well for starters, it's my amazing sister Louisa's birthday!! (Hi Lou!)

It also happens to be the day of our anniversary! Er, I mean, Michael + Me...not my sister + me. That'd be just wrong. And illegal in the USA I think?

Anyway: Michael I know you read this blog once every blue moon - so Happy Anniversary!

Here's what else is good lately :

Rainbow. Glitter. Ornaments.

I DIYed these guys YEARS ago, and we still use them on our secondary mini tree. Just some dollar store ornaments, glue spray, and Martha Stewart glitter. As you can tell, I'm still obsessed with snapping #everythinginrainboworder pictures of them on Instagram :)

35 Degree Weather!

Oh Wisconsin, I love  you when you have mild Decembers! I probably just jinxed myself here- but this extra warm weather means I get that much more use out of my favorite Tory Burch flats. Love, love, love.

Holiday Cocktails!

Tomorrow on zee blog I'll be sharing this recipe for a sparkling caramel appletini. Oh yeah, it's reaaaally good.

(and no, you're not seeing double. it's the same scarf. evidently it's officially my biggest photobomber lately.) 

Holiday Gifts!

I absolutely love giving gifts- and I've been having a blast Hanukkah & Christmas shopping this year for friends and family. My latest great find is this silver antler bottle opener. If you don't have anyone in your life that'd like this, you're probably thinking I'm a crazy person- but I know one hunter and one artsy-thinks-antlers-are-cool gal who with both love this! LIGHTHOUSES + APPLE PICKING

You know, normally I do these posts on Mondays---but since coming back from vacation I am a little behind...mmmkay?

Here's what's good lately:

1. Since it's finally not crazy humid out, my curls are no longer pure frizz, so that's delightful!

2. There is nothing, I repeat NOTHING better than spending time at Lambeau. Even in the pouring rain.

Watching the Packers beat the Vikings Thursday was just too good to be true!

3. Michael and I took a mini vacation to Door County over the weekend- and despite some on and off rain, it was the perfect fall excursion. Hanging out on Lake Michigan, enjoying the fall colors, apple picking- if you ever head over to Door County and want some tips, be sure to send me an email!

4. Speaking of apple picking- if you like HoneyCrisp apples- you HAVE to go pick your own. $1.70/pound vs $4/pound in stores. Plus, then you can take some artsy as heck orchard pictures ;-)

CANDY CORN SEASON

Happy Monday you wonderful people!

Hope you all had a stellar weekend. It was crazy hot here- 80 degrees - perfect for Badger Gameday tailgating...and then hiding inside Sunday to watch the Packers game!

Here's what's been good lately:

Oy. Last week was... a week. It was one of those weeks that meant kicking off your shoes and going RIGHT out to the balcony with some wine. Ya feel me?

Like I said - this weekend was a great weekend for tailgating for the Badger game- and I got to bust out my favorite DIY Badger shoes from a trip to the Rose Bowl a few years ago:

LAST HURRAH OF SUMMER

Happy Monday, friends!

Fall is officially coming into the Midwest - so I figured I'd dedicate this week on the blog to one last hurrah for summer.

I'm guessing this will be the last week with 70 degree temps, so might as well enjoy it while it's here, right?

To squeeze the last bit of nice weather out, Michael and I went camping & canoeing. 

The 2 am wakeup to 35 degree weather was a little unfortunate, but during the day?

So I FINALLY bought a Madewell Transport tote. It's magical heaven. Yup. I said that.

 To stop being so materialistic and talking about clothes for a hot second- I got the chance to do something cool for work the other day! I've been helping out with a photo shoot behind the scenes, and got to tag along for the real thing on Friday. I cannot wait until it goes live so I can share it!!

TUBE FLOATS & BOMB POPS!

Hello loves!

Hope you had a wonderful and safe 4th of July weekend celebratin' AMURICA!

Here's what's been up lately!

Annual 4th of July firework cupcakes were in order for work this year:

Thursday night = Memorial Union Terrace sunset. So. Dang. Perfect.

On Friday a group of us all enjoyed beach time at a nearby lake- beyond fabulous to soak up the sun while laying in some $6 floaties in the water. Oh--- and bomb pops- lots of bomb pops!

Saturday was spent downtown- Farmer's Market, brunch, and perfect dinner & drinks later in the night.

Sunday was all about celebrating my girl Emily- a 6 hour tube float down the Wisconsin river was in order, of course!

So tell me friends, how did you celebrate this weekend?

Please tell me SOMEONE wore American Flag shorts. Or swimsuits!

 Oh Monday, I'm not in the mood for you today.

I would REALLY like to still be in Minnesota, relaxing next to the lake with my family. But noooo, you just have to show up and ruin that, don't you?

Sigh.

HEY friends! Hope your weekend was as lovely as mine.

M & I took a long weekend to go back to the Twin Cities so we could spend some much needed time with family and friends. We went to a friend's concert downtown, drank more than we should have, and relaxed by the lake with the family. So. Perfect.

Another Monday is here, friends!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend- and celebrated Father's Day to the fullest. Clearly my dad is the best dad ever, but I'm sure yours are pretty great too ;-)

The SWEETEST coworker brought me some peonies after I mentioned missing my mom's gardens & my love for the flowers. Serious sweetness!

Michael and I jumped on over to Milwaukee for a day trip on Saturday- the weather was disgustingly perfect! We toured Lakefront brewery, hung out in the Third Ward, and enjoyed some great bites at Trocadero. This was my favorite sight of the day, though:

ROASTING S'MORES OVER TEALIGHTS

Hello lovelies!

After a week off (again...I know...) I'm here to explode your internet with lots of pictures. Enjoy, friends:

The other weekend Michael & I went to Galena, Illinois for some good old fashioned Americana time:

We tried to camp but couldn't get a site, so we just roasted s'mores over tealights...

Aaaand last weekend we went to ANOTHER small town- in Wisconsin this time. We drove to see the farm Michael's grandpa was born on...which happens to be on a road named after their family. Clearly we had to get a good photo:

Other good things lately include fresh squeezed grapefruit juice...

....and bright pink lips & curls...

...aaaand rainbow ordering candy, per usual.
