ROCKSBOX: FREE MONTH OF JEWELRY!

Alright guys:

Time for my RocksBox review! You've probably seen a good amount of people posting about Rocksbox on Instagram- but I'm here to answer some common questions- HONESTLY.

If you're not interested in me blabbling, here's the quick quote:
- Rocksbox is like Netflix for jewelry - and to get a free month, signup at rocksbox.com & use code "beautyandbeardxoxo"? -

Okay, here's the long version:
FREE month of Rockbox using code beautyandbeardxoxo

Rocksbox really is like Netflix for jewelry.
You get 3 pieces in the mail, you wear them as long as you want...and then you return them.

Here's how you start, to assure you actually get pieces you LIKE.

1. You take a style quiz. There's a bunch of quick questions to narrow down what kind of jewelry you like - gold/silver, necklaces/earrings/bracelets/rings, etc.

2. You USE the comment sections! There are places everywhere to give specific details on what you like, and drop hints about pieces you want :)
3. You use the Wishlist- you can request specific pieces of jewelry you want. That plain and simple!
4. You leave feedback! With each box you get, there's a spot to leave feedback for each piece - likes, dislikes, comments.

The most common questions I've been getting have been about shipping- so here they are, with answers:

1. Can you keep 1 piece for longer and send the others back? Unless you buy it, no. It kind of sucks if you really like a piece, but you have to send all 3 back at a time. BUT like I said, if you like a piece a lot, you can buy it for 20% below retail price!

2. Is shipping fast? Yes! My first box actually took a long time to come- but I found out it was my post office's fault, not Rocksbox! Since that first one, the shipping has been super fast. When I sent my last box back and got my new one- it only took a total of 4 business days!

3. Is shipping actually free? Yes. Shipping and Returns are totally free!

4. What are the hidden costs? Hah. I asked this question too. There actually aren't any- using "beautyandbeardxoxo" by March 19th and you get the first month free - and then after that it's $19/month. Shipping and returns are free!

5. What if you get something in your box you don't like? This has only happened to me once- I got a necklace I didn't totally love- so I just put a comment on the return form when I sent the box back!

6. Are you getting paid for this? Hah, not to post about this, no. But like any referral program nowadays, you bet your sweet bottom I get perks. Use code "beautyandbeardxoxo" and YOU get a free month, and I get credit towards Rocksbox. BUT WAIT. Before you get all high and mighty- once YOU sign up for Rocksbox, you'll get a code too- which means YOU can pass it along to friends/family/coworkers, and get the exact same perks :)

7. Is it all gaudy statement jewelry? NO! There is something for everyone. I've gotten bold, bright Loren Hope pieces as well as delicate, simple Gorjana pieces. You get whatever you specify in your comments!

8. Is it worth it? For me, for right now, yes. As we're approaching wedding season I have a TON of weddings coming up (and bridal showers and bachelorette parties) and it's going to be awesome to have a constant flow of new jewelry to wear! Honestly, I don't know if it's something I'd do year round, but right now, it's worth it!

If you are still skeptical, send me an email : beautyandbeard(at)gmail(dot)com.

So don't wait!
Use code "beautyandbeardxoxo" by March 19th for your first box for FREE!

....AND THEN YOU END UP AT PERKINS

If you had told me that I would spend an anniversary dinner at Perkins in Appleton, Wisconsin during a snowstorm I would have told you that you were smoking something a little too strong.
And yet, where did I find myself last night?
Yup- you guessed it. At a Perkins in Appleton,WI in a snowstorm.

Why? Well let me rewind. So I won Packers tickets a while back at work (remember that?), and the game happened to land on our 4 year anniversary (score!). The game was at noon, so we got up early, drove to Green Bay (as it was starting to snow) and headed in.
WAIT. Let me paint a picture for you of what I looked like: I looked like Ralphie's brother in a Christmas Story. Snowpants. Coat. Scarf. Hat. Mittens. Boots. It was cold, y'all. I'm talking juuuuust barely double digits cold. And snowing. And windy. So cold that our beer froze upon opening:
...and all of our pictures have snow in front of our faces
Wait..where was I?
Right. Perkins.
So the game ends (we win!) and we go to drive home and realize the streets are full of snow.
You know what happens when the streets are full of snow?
The idiots come out of the woodwork and choose to drive like the idiots they are. Not only to they smash up their own cars, they cause other accidents that shut down roads and make everyone else wait as their Escalades get loaded up on a tow truck to be taken back to Daddy's house to be fixed.
Moral of the story: it should take 20 minutes to get to Appleton from Green Bay. It took 2 hours.

Frustrated and hungry we pulled off and stopped the first place we saw: a warm Perkins.
The food was...well...Perkins-esque, but I have to say, it was a great anniversary dinner. We people watched (read: Old People watched), tried to regain our voices from screaming at the game. and reminisced over the last 4 years (awwwww. i know, roll your eyes).
And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way.
Happy 4, M! For Keeps!

In other news, my babelicious sister turned 30 yesterday. She's kind of my hero, so naturally i believe she makes 30 look better than anyone else. Plus, look at her pulling off this flat-brim hat! So thug.
I know beginning of fall is "sweater weather" that everyone says to be cutesy- but SHIT people, it's winter in the Midwest, sweaters are necessary now. Especially ones with cables. Worn with chambray. Duh.

DID YOU ENTER THE GIVEAWAY YET? Sorry for shouting, but jesus people it's $50. FO FREE. And if you enter, make sure to read the mandatory entries. Come back tomorrow for ANOTHER giveaway. Yup, it's the holiday season people, it's gonna get fun over here.

Finally: a PSA for Loren Hope. How good are her Sophia studs? If you feel like sending me a gift, I'll take one set in every color, please and thanks. I'll send ya my address. Love.

Alright, long enough post for the day. I know, I know.
What was wonderful about your weekend, friends?
Any fellow Perkins goers out there?

Friday's Fancies #64: Wedding Wear

Let's talk weddings.
This summer we were invited to....6 I think? This of course means I take that as an excuse to buy a bunch of new dresses. You know, like any responsible adult would do.

I am in love with the look of these jacquard dresses. Totally flattering shape, hitting you right at your natural waist- and an array of colors to choose from. That with a slight texture? Perfection. Oh, and for under $45? I'll take all 3, thanks.

Look 2: Blinged Out Babe (yes I said blinged out) :  Light Blue Jacquard dress /// J.Crew Factory necklace // Kenneth Jay Waterfall Earrings

Look 3: Watermelon Woman (ok these names are going downhill fast): Light Coral Jacquard Dress // Gorjana Triangle necklace // Loren Hope Petra earrings

Looking at these now together I realize they have a Disney Princess Belle-Cinderella-Ariel thing going on. Oops. So for all you 80s/90s kids who were Disney obsessed, make your bridesmaids wear these. It would be awesome (read: sad).

Do you have a go-to wedding outfit?
Mix it up with one of these dressed this summer!
