I haven't done one of these posts in a while!

And of course, in true seasonal theme, I've included a lil' fall picture, just for you anti-word, pro-picture crowd out there:

FEELING: Shocked that there was a few snowflakes out yesterday. WHAT. How did that happen?

READING: Confederates in the Attic. Or well, I'm about to start it. Michael being a history nerd means we have a ton of great books about the Civil War & WWII, and I can't wait to get started on this one!

LISTENING TO: "Sail" by AWOLNATION...mainly because this 40 second spoof video totally kills me. Every. Time. 

THANKFUL FOR: The insane luck of winning Packers tickets at work last week, AND getting to meet James Jones. Seriously- a Packers fan's dream. To make it even more amazing, the game I won tickets to is on our anniversary, which is more than I could have asked for! Expect us to be making tacky signs like "We skipped the anniversary dinner to have a date with AARON & CLAY!" or something like that. Be warned.

EATING: Apple Cider Sticks (frozen cider), cheese from the farmer's market last weekend, and the best pasta ever from a recipe from a friend. She's sworn me to secrecy on how it's made- so you'll either have to take my word on it being the best, or come to WI and have me make it for you. Nom.

WATCHING: Forrest Gump and getting weepy. I'm sorry- I haven't watched this movie in forever- WHEN DID IT GET SO SAD? If you haven't watched it in a while, I really recommend seeing it again. When he's talking about all the beauty he saw on his runs..and even in Vietnam...MAN it just gets me. I know it's all fiction, but I know there are people out there that are that positive, and it just makes you want to be...better, ya know?

LOVING: Oh geez. THIS cozy scarf (in both colors!), THIS badass mug, THIS gorgeous purse (for under $20-what?!), THESE fall flats, and THESE  hexagon lovlies. 

LOOKING FORWARD TO: Tonight! I'm having some work friends over for a "housewarming" party...even thought we've lived here for 3 months. Sigh. We just don't have our act together this time around when it comes to getting the place set up and having a timely party. Whatever. Awesome excuse to have some of my favorite friends over for food! I'm planning on making THIS and THIS for sure!

Happy Thursday friends. Time for round 2 of "Currently":

FEELING: Hot. This 90 degree weather needs to go. Fuh real.

READING: Ender's Game. A coworker lent it to me and I'm just starting on it...SciFi really isn't my jam but let's see where this goes. Anyone read it before? I'm liking it so far.

LISTENING TO: "Can't Hold Us"  by Macklemore + Ryan Lewis. So freaking catchy. It is my pump up, run around, clean the house, drive the car song. 

THANKFUL FOR: Getting to see a favorite old friend this weekend. We've known each other since we were...12 maybe? She's just as witty and ridiculous and goofy as she was then, and it was a breath of fresh air to see her (and her awesome boyfriend).

EATING: Almonds, Onion Chive Cheese, and too many Cesar salads to count. Riveting, I know. Honestly, all this heat makes me just want to eat popsicles 24/7. But, alas, they don't fall too high on the food pyramid. Can fall just come so we can all eat soup and pumpkin seeds?

WATCHING: Portlandia. Now that Michael and I have been to Portland I can't get over how true to real life it is. PUT A BIRD ON IT! GRAB THE GEAR! Anyone? Portlandia fans out there? Also, thanks to Netflix I've been watching an embarrassing amount of Glee while blogging. Watching it right now. Truth.

LOVING: Where do I begin? THIS most perfect fall bag in gorgeous cognac (with a tassel!), THIS Skin Savior- which is by far the best beauty product ever invented, and THIS pair of plum pants. Gap, you're killin' it.

"CURRENTLY" BANDWAGON

Sometimes this blog has to be more than boozy recipes and pretty Instagram shots, you know?

A little bit ago Ashley shared this post - starting a weekly "Currently" post in the style of the lovely Danielle from Sometimes Sweet. Still following me here? Basically the point is you do a weekly check in to what is going on/how you're feeling. Now, this won't be a weekly post for me- but I figured you all might care even a smidgen what's going on in my world...so here goes:

FEELING: Ready for the weekend. Ya dig? 

READING: The new Martha magazine. Is it a book? No, but it is full of so much summer goodness! I'm a Martha mag hoarder. I can't ever bring myself to recycle them. Too pretty!

LISTENING TO: Thunder. That's not some cool new band name, I really mean thunder. It's been storming all week here and I've been waking up a few times a night to thunder and lightening and pounding rain. Half relaxing, half terrifying.

THANKFUL FOR: A recent surprise gift from Michael. Nothing fancy or elaborate- but a replacement for something I had emotional ties to that was falling apart. Well done, M. Well done.

THINKING ABOUT: MOVING. Gah. We move into our new apartment in 3 weeks and it cannot come soon enough. I am so ready to be out of our crappy building and into a place with more space, in a better area. Let the decorating plans begin!

EATING: Copious amounts of pesto. Our basil plant grows at a ridiculous rate, so I've been making pesto 1-2 times a week for pasta or flatbread. So so so much garlic. Since we're on the topic of garlic, I currently reek of it from the guac I just made. Not mad about it.

WATCHING: Master Chef. Dudes, I love this show. I love how harsh Gordon Ramsay is. I love how ridiculously stuck up Joe Bastianich is. I love how Graham Elliot is kind of the third wheel. I love making fun of that Beth idiot that sobs all the time. 

LOVING: THIS  necessary summer shirt, THIS  perfect everyday bracelet, THIS miracle working self tanner, and THIS bomb diggity lucite jewelry/makeup container.

LOOKING FORWARD TO: The wedding we're going to this weekend. Besides the obvious joy of seeing two pretty friends who love each other get married, I'm also a big fan of dressing up. And seeing Michael dress up. Sorry in advance for the inevitable amount of Instagram shots.
